Imad Mughniyah |
Secretary General of Hezbollah,
Hasan Nasrallah (may Allah preserve him)
All praise is due to Allah the
Almighty, and may His peace and blessings be upon Prophet
Muhammad, his household, those whom Almighty Allah has
selected from among His servants to follow their path in
righteousness until the Day of Judgment, and those who are
patiently follow them on the path of Jihad until death
overtakes them.
May the peace, mercy and blessings
of Allah be upon you.
I ask the Almighty – Exalted and
Glorified be He – to accept the struggling hero, Hajj Imad
Mughniyah, as a martyr and to shower him with a great share
of His Satisfaction on the Day of Judgment. Indeed, He –
Exalted be He – has assigned His Satisfaction for those who
are close to Him and who are martyrs in His Way. Indeed,
Almighty Allah – Exalted be He - keeps them alive with Him;
granting them inexhaustible sustenance and immovable status.
There, they will stay on a seat of truth (Paradise), near
the Omnipotent King (Allah, the All-Blessed, the Most High,
the Owner of Majesty and Honor), and they will settle in a
blessed dwelling in the company of the Prophets, the
Siddiqun (truthful followers of the Prophets who were first
and foremost to believe in them), the martyrs, and the
righteous. How excellent these companions are!
Truly, we are deeply sorry for the
death of the martyred hero and our sadness can only be
paralleled with our joy that Almighty Allah selected him to
be a martyr; granting him a status that is only attained by
those who have been true to their covenant with Allah (they
have gone out for Jihad), of them some have fulfilled their
obligations (have been martyred), and some of them are still
waiting, but they have never changed (betrayed their
covenant) in the least.
Undoubtedly, our trust is in our
Lord – Exalted and glorified be He – and it is limitless. We
are sure that He will replace us with something that is
better than that which we have lost and will decree for the
true, undaunted resistance (army) the best of which He has
promised His righteous slaves; victory and consolidation:
"Verily Allah helpeth one who helpeth Him. Lo! Allah is
Strong, Almighty. Those who, if We give them power in the
land, establish worship and pay the poor due and enjoin
kindness and forbid iniquity. And Allah's is the sequel of
events." (Al-Hajj 22: 40-41)
I hereby offer condolences to all
fellow members of the valorous resistance and to myself on
behalf of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, of
the Muslims of the entire world, of all conscientious men,
regardless of their religion, and of the people who are
resisting tyranny and injustice in the four corners of the
world, over the death of the venerable fellow and martyr,
Hajj Imad Mughniyah; the peerless leader who is worthy of
satisfaction.
I ask Almighty Allah – Exalted and
Glorified be He – to grant us martyrdom in His Way and to
enable us to join our honorable brother in the gathering of
the truthful: "This is a day in which their truthfulness
profiteth the truthful, for theirs are Gardens underneath
which rivers flow, wherein they are secure for ever, Allah
taking pleasure in them and they in Him. That is the great
triumph." (Al-Ma'idah 5: 118)
We can only repeat the Words of
Almighty Allah: "Who say, when a misfortune striketh
them: Lo! we are Allah's and Lo! unto Him we are returning.
Such are they on whom are blessings from their Lord, and
mercy. Such are the rightly guided." (Al-Baqarah 2:
156-157)
May the peace, mercy and blessings
of Allah be upon you.
The last of our requests is that
all praises and thanks are due to Allah, the Lord of the
Worlds.
Your brother,
Muhammad Salim Al-`Awwa
Secretary General
